Israel's signature jukebox musical, built on 25 hits by Svika Pick - the “King of Israeli Pop”. Book by Dan Almagor and Steven Dexter after a story by Mirit Shem-Or. The 2023 Artsi Theatre revival, directed by Tzedi Tzarfati, is the first major stage tribute after Pick's passing: Lihi Toledano as Mary Lou, Tal Grushka as Gabriel, and a national tour through the country's halls.
The set is a world of LED-framed portals and steel staircases by Lily Ben Nachshon - which means the lighting carries every scene change. Neon frames snap a 70s coastal town into a disco fever dream; saturated colour fields, beam choreography and a single lonely followspot swing the show between euphoria and heartbreak.
